🔗 Share this article The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Selected the Wrong Critical Role Track This latest animated series, the most recent animated adventure by Critical Role, unveiled a new introductory sequence. It features the beloved cast of misfits, outcasts, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at multiple agonizing backstories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, the character Fjord. All in all, the opening looks stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that an element was lost in the song choice. The intro uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar composition composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the official score of the same name, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a great nostalgic choice, and I suspect that fans of the sequel series will love its inclusion. Personally, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the second campaign's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018. Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series yet, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my phone. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you start an installment of adventurous fun. The Mighty Nein's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's a grand composition, but based on my understanding of the group, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched. Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have some changes and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as one of them. This animated adventure will be released on Prime Video from Nov. 19. For those eager until then, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
