The attacker has netted five finishes in 10 domestic competition appearances during the current campaign.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to fans for his response when substituted in Sunday's fiery match against Barcelona victory.

The Brazilian was replaced in the 72nd minute and expressed his disappointment by heading directly off the pitch.

He subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his team's 2-1 win, tried to confront the opposition's opposing player during unpleasant final whistle incidents.

"Now I want to apologise to all the supporters for my response when I was substituted in the derby," the player wrote on X.

"In the same way as I have previously expressed during this morning's training, I also want to say sorry once more to my teammates, the team, and the president.

"Occasionally passion gets the better of me because I constantly desire to win and help my side. My winning mentality comes from the love I have for this team and all it symbolizes."

He joined Real from Flamengo in recent years for a significant fee and has scored triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his future in the La Liga is unclear with speculation in lately suggesting that Real would think about allowing the 25-year-old depart if they got a good proposal.

When the winger was taken off on that day, broadcast footage from broadcaster the platform recorded him remarking: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I go, I'm moving on."

In his new message on the platform, Vinicius said: "I commit to keep striving constantly for the benefit of Los Blancos, as I have performed since the very beginning."
