The Wilder chant went viral this spring. An apologetic Bamford along with Leeds boss, Daniel Farke, called Wilder the following day.

Wilder commented at the time: “Had a conversation with Patrick yesterday and I’ve no issue at all with it. I'm uncertain regarding the words used from a fellow professional! However I valued and admired him giving me a call.

“We had a short while and similarly I talked with Daniel Farke too and had a longer discussion with him and he is a great person, a top guy. When I was playing we used to give it and take it and that is an integral part of the game across all levels, including Sunday league. I have absolutely no issue. I am cool with the situation and I told him that to Pat.”
