Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that returning someday is something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown since 1990, has since taken on roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured the league title under Arne Slot, though countless followers who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the idea of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I said I refuse to lead a different club within the country. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, so I might decide later on, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I can just see what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a player he signed while in charge, and the effect at the club. The Portugal international was killed in a road accident alongside his brother recently.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the dressing room absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly about it. A profound tragedy for all the boys as well. Not a single person will ever use it as an excuse but it is the situation. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Handling this individually is difficult. Overwhelming.”
